The Romance of Glass

I am in love with the old antique glass of 100 years ago and older! 

Why?  It is because of the romance of the glass!  Yes, there is Romance in the old glass that our Great-Great Grandmothers may have had in their homes!

When you see a piece of glass that was made during the 1800's, just think about where it has been and what it was to the original owners!  Did it come in a hope chest to a young girl of 16 who was getting married?  Was it the only "sparkling" item in her existence?   What real price did she place on it?  Imagine living in a house without electricity, cooking on an open fire in the fireplace.   Having only pewter or tin plates to eat from.  But the one beautiful thing that the sun hit just right in the window was that sparkling piece of glass!  How treasured it had to be to the family who owned it!
